This test is designed to evaluate the general on-vehicle performance
of automotive engine oils and fuels. Using the chassis dynamometer a
skilled driver or robot conducts various tests for the measurement of
exhaust gases, acceleration and fuel economy in J13 and 10-15 modes.
Various temperature conditions between -40 and +40 degrees centigrade
are controlled in our laboratory, which is equipped with an essential
dilution tunnel facility for the measurement of diesel-engine particulates.
Additionally, we actually drive the car on the road in order to evaluate
the on-vehicle durability of lubricants and the cleanliness of gasoline.
